Teenage Engineering ZM-1 Oplab Module Expansion Accessory Kit

The ZM-1 Oplab Module is an innovative accessory designed to enhance the functionality of the Teenage Engineering OP-Z Bluetooth Synthesizer. This module provides musicians and producers with the capability to connect the OP-Z to a variety of music equipment, enabling a seamless integration of sounds and instruments.

This hardware expansion module is the first of its kind from Teenage Engineering and is designed to be conveniently mounted at the back of the OP-Z. The installation process is straightforward and does not require any external mounting tools.

Installation Instructions

To install the ZM-1 Oplab Module, first ensure that both the OP-Z and the Oplab Module are turned off. Begin by rotating the yellow rubber bumpers located at the back of the OP-Z 90 degrees counterclockwise. After removing the backplate, you will need to take out the LEGO shaft and dummy module found inside the OP-Z. The LEGO shaft can also be used as a mini stand for additional flexibility. Once these components are removed, insert the ZM-1 Oplab Module in the space where the dummy module was located. Ensure that the bottom switch on the ZM-1 is flipped down to lock it in place securely.

Connectivity Features

The ZM-1 Oplab Module allows users to connect the OP-Z to a variety of devices, including analog modular synthesizers, MIDI drum pads, keyboards, and even Pocket Operators. With its 3 CV outputs and 1 gate output, the ZM-1 enables the programming and performance of complex musical patterns directly from the OP-Z.
